Hours, Locations and Parking

Both the Third Circuit Court and the Wayne County Friend of the Court are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Both the Court and Friend of the Court are closed between December 25 and January 1 each year and on the federal holidays listed below:
We are also closed on federal holidays, designated by the list below.

Parking
Parking options vary for the various buildings that comprise the Third Circuit Court. The City of Detroit offers paid parking on many streets through the Park Detroit app. This is an option for guests of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center and the Penobscot Building.
Plan your parking ahead of time when possible. Public transportation is available through the Detroit Department of Transportation, which offers 48 bus routes throughout the city. You can view the bus schedules that are pertinent to our locations here.
Coleman A. Young Municipal Center
Numerous paid parking options are available with costs ranging from $5-25 per day. Hourly rates are available in some lots. Specific options include:
- Bates at Atwatwer
- Congress and Beaubian
- Congress between Brush and Beaubian
- Congress and Cass
- Ford Underground (along Jefferson)
- Larned and Beaubian
- Millender Center
Lincoln Hall of Justice
Parking is available onsite at no cost:
- In the gated, adjacent lot on the north side of the complex. Please park in non-numbered parking spots only.
- Along the street on Forest Avenue.
Penobscot Building
Parking is available in various locations around the Penobscot Building. Jurors and others with business at the Penobscot Building are advised to find spaces using the Park Detroit app.
Wayne County Criminal Justice Center (include map)
Free parking for jurors can be found in two county-controlled parking lots near the Criminal Justice Center.
- Lot C is located at 5300 Russell Street. The pedestrian access for Lot C is located directly across the street from the main building entrance.
- Lot B is located at 5560 Rivard Street, the entrance to Lot B is on Russell St. The pedestrian access for Lot B is located approximately 0.3 miles from the main building entrance.
